---Great Place...quiet, clean rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was a great start for our day...loved the fresh fruit! Big pool...complete with water slide and diving board. Beach was great for a walk but the water was too cold for a swim. Halifax Nova Scotia

---This Inn was very welcoming and comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing, the surroundings lovely and peaceful. The innkeepers are very helpful and pleasant. The homemade jellies are wonderful. I would stay here again. Boston Ma

---My 11-year old daughter, my cousin and his friend and me took the two rooms on top of the Winchester House on August 3-7 2006. We paid $179 per night for all four of us and the two rooms. The rooms were equipped with a queen-sized bed, desk, closet or dresser, cable television, and we shared a nice large bathroom. The upstairs had its own entrance and medium sized fridge. It looked like the entire upstairs had been recently renovated with brand new carpet, paint, bathroom floor etc. Very clean and quiet place. It was nice to have our own floor and would recommend this for families or friends traveling together. The price was certainly well worth it. The house itself is a 100 yards or less walk to the main Inn were we had a great breakfast each morning, and a couple of beers when we arrived. At the Inn there are sitting rooms, a porch and a separate smoking porch where I enjoyed a cigar and drank a beer. The proprietors are very nice and really knowledgeable about restaurants, whale watching etc. There are also fruit trees and my daughter and I enjoyed picking black cherries in front of our house. This place is highly recommended. Atlanta, Georgia

---We stayed four nights at The Harbourview and loved it. Great location, peaceful, scenic, close to the sea and to Digby and lots more. Great building, well decorated, clean and comfortable. Great hosts in Darren and Vance who could not have been more welcoming and helpful, they really made the stay special. I'd recommend a stay there without hesitation and hope we can return soon. Leicester, England

---We booked a week in a cottage in PEI, and a variety of hotels and Inns over 10 days just in case the cottage was awful (fortunately not), and to get some well rewarded luxury and service. The Harbour View Inn did not disappoint us. In fact, the standard of ‘Inns’ and some B/B’s in Nova Scotia is exceptionally high and in most ways preferable to most of the bigger hotels. The Harbourview Inn has super rooms that are clean, spacious and well appointed and have excellent bath room/shower facilities. It looks out on a beautiful garden that is very well kept and attracts a wide variety of unusual birds to ponder upon over breakfast which is served in a pleasant conservatory. It has ample parking. In all it was far better quality and value than the Best Western and Holiday Inn Hotels we stayed whilst in NS and PEI. An Internet terminal with unlimited use even enabled me to keep track of the football results! and a well stocked shelves of paperbacks nd information on local history assured that no time was wasted.
There are some interesting walks nearby including views across Fundy and a beautiful, tiny old wooden church that is still fully functioning.
Darren Snair and his partner were very friendly and helpful, made us feel at home and at ease without overdoing it (which I guess is a sign of their long experience in the trade). They were courteous because they seemed that way, not because they were taught to be. They gave us some good tips on local restaurants and drives, which included taking a couple of ferries out to islands off the coast and exploring the Acadian areas to the south.
In all, I have no hesitation in recommending the Harbourview Inn. We can assure you we are not related to the owners, & have no axe to grind but if you want a good break in Nova Scotia, which we also wholeheartedly recommend, give it a try, you will not be disappointed. It must be a great place to live. Welwyn, Hertfordshire England
